Pat Grant is Serious About Comics

March 18th, 2011

Hit full screen on your browsers. BLUE by Australian cartoonist Pat Grant is an impressive debut with rich designs and an intriguing narrative style.

Just a few installments online so far, but each one is its own little world and worth setting aside a few minutes to let it all soak in. Grant plans to print the final result, but I think it looks great on the screen as well.

Thanks to Melbourne-based Rebecca Clements of KinokoFry fame for the link. Grant’s guest strip for KinokoFry is up this week.

Huh… I’ve been following his blog for months and this is completely new to me. It’s really good, too.

Great to see Pat getting a shout out like this. He’s an amazing talent. Might do well to wear some shoes indoors occasionally though (ask Pat)

Pat is amazing. ‘Blue’ is going to be one hell of a graphic novel – and in the meantime it’s a gorgeous web-comic. He’s done a lot of extremely impressive minis over the years too…

Pat was kind enough to send me some comics in the mail recently, just for getting in touch! Seems like a great guy with some great comics tbh.

Can’t wait to read Blue in crisp print format.
